ऋग्वेदः · शाकल
Śākala
The Ṛgveda as it is recited today. Its books run from the saṃhitā through the Aitareya Brāhmaṇa and Āraṇyaka to the Aitareya Upaniṣad, with the Āśvalāyana Kalpa.
Other śākhās:Śāṅkhāyana (Kauṣītaki)
Not on this path, and why
- Bāṣkala: its saṃhitā does not survive as a separate text. The Kauṣītaki books traditionally linked with the Ṛgveda’s second line have their own path, Śāṅkhāyana.
